This deep red ceramic pot from the early 20th century was designed for heating milk. The 4 small holes and larger central hole in the lid kept the milk from boiling over! Simple but ingenious. My favorite use for these pots is to use them as
pique-fleurs: I fill the pot with water, then insert fresh flowers through the holes in the lid in the manner of a traditional French
pique-fleurs. Very French country and very charming!
