Average to dry soils--Wild borage

Bring the color and fragrance of the French countryside into your garden! The edible herb borage (Borago officinalis) is also wondrous to look at, with clusters of starry, intensely sky blue flowers that are pink in bud. The leaves have a cucumber-like flavor and can be sliced into salad, and are a traditional garnish for gin-based cocktails. The flowers are also lovely strewn over a salad. Borage is a traditional medicinal herb of several uses. The leaves are rich in potassium.

This annual will thrive in any sunny location and reseed itself if not mulched. It is very drought-tolerant. Plant borage anytime from early spring through summer.

I've searched for a year to find the right source of French native wildflower seeds to offer you. Here they are! Certified organically grown, these seeds are produced on a flower farm in the Massif Central by a family group. One hundred percent of the process is artisanal, right down to the seed packets which are decorated with drawings of the content plants by the owner.
