Babette's organic goat cheese
About ten kilometers from Veules-les-Roses is Babette's splendid organic goat farm. Her superb cheeses are brought to the Veules market by her father, as Babette is too busy taking care of the goats and making cheese to come herself. Should you visit Veules on a Saturday, be sure to buy a few of her cheeses (my favorite is the cendré, coated with a fine layer of wood ash), and sit down on convenient nearby bench to devour them straightaway. That's right, without even any bread!
